AUSTRALIAN RACING FACT BOOK  2000 - 2001
CORRECTIONS

Unfortunately some mistakes have found their way into the printed version of the 2000-2001 Fact Book.

Thoroughbred Wagering Turnover by State (2000/01 Financial Year)

The column for South Australia contains an incorrect figure for total pari-mutuel turnover, this should read $472.9 million instead of $540.8 million.

Similarly the total for Tasmania is $161.8 million instead of $159.5 million.

This alters Australian total pari-mutuel and total wagering turnover to be $8,141.7 million and $9,563.5 million respectively.

Three of the column headings were partially transposed during typesetting, from the third column these should read "Starters", "Prizemoney (A$M)" and "Betting Turnover* (A$M)"

Betting Turnover in Great Britain is reported as $448.35 million, this is actually tote turnover only. The correct figure including bookmaker turnover is $13.14 billion.

For Malaysia/Singapore, the last two columns should read Mares - 139, Foals - 36.

Similarly for United Arab Emirates the numbers are Mares - 139, Foals - 21
